This video lecture from Environmental Chemistry (F.Sc. second year Chemistry) covers an introduction to environmental chemistry and the components of the environment. The environment is composed of the Atmosphere, Hydrosphere, Lithosphere and Biosphere. Atmosphere of earth exists in several layers ranging from troposphere to exosphere. Primary composition of atmosphere is nitrogen and oxygen among other trace gases. Hydrosphere is composed of oceans, seas, polar ice caps, rivers, streams and underground water reservoirs. Lithosphere is the outer crust of earth and contains minerals and soil. Biosphere is the part of environment where living beings live and interact with the environment in an ecosystem.
