FSc Chemistry Book2, CH 12, LEC 6: Reactivity of Carbonyl Compounds

This video lecture from Aldehydes and Ketones (F.Sc. second year Chemistry) covers the reactivity of carbonyl compounds. The carbonyl group contains more electronegative oxygen atom which makes the bond polar in nature. The presence of double bond indicates a weaker pi bond which is prone to attack and hence carbonyl compounds give addition reactions which may be acid or base catalyzed depending on the reagent used.
